Ireland - Sacred Spaces

Several years ago I traveled to Ireland to visit, paint, and document sacred spaces dating from Pre-history through the Monastic Period. While there, my journey became a pilgrimage of sorts in which I discovered the beauty of a sacred land, the connection of structure to setting and the love of the earth the Irish people (my people) have nurtured for millennia. These images are a start of my exploration of these places and my relationship to them. I plan to continue this series in the near future. Stay tuned for additional imagery on this page.

Land and Seascapes

I painted these images on site in the moment of experiencing the places for the first time, feeling the wind, rain, sun, and dampness of this land. Clogherhead, Fenit, and Lir Lodge County Caavan views are the subjects of these four pieces.
